National PTA School of Excellence Program

National PTA's School of Excellence program supports and celebrates partnerships between PTAs and schools to enrich the educational experience and overall well-being for all students. The path to excellence starts with a joint commitment of PTA and school leaders to work together to achieve PTA's National Standards for Family-School Partnerships.

Through the School of Excellence program, your PTA and school will gain new ways to engage families in school decision-making, such as improvements to programs, practices, and policies related to education, health, safety or the arts. Steps to Becoming a National PTA School of Excellence

Once enrolled, you will receive access to an online toolkit with step-by-step instructions on how to run your program and achieve their school improvement goals. As you implement strategies to enhance family engagement at your school, you can expect National PTA to provide training, resources, program reminders and timely responses to your questions. 

Step 1. Enroll and Get Started (May 1 – Oct. 15)

Step 2. Gather and Analyze Community Feedback (August – Dec. 1)

Step 3. Build an Excellence Action Plan and Check Back with your Community (November  – May)

Step 4. Reflect On and Summarize Progress (May 1 - June 15)

Step 5. Celebrate Your Excellence (Aug.)
